The collection consists of microfiche copies of records gathered during the Bureau of Land Management Navigability Section record copying project in Alaska in 1978. Records of various government offices concerning Alaska housed in the National Archives were copied by the Arctic Environmental Information and Data Center. Sets of files were reproduced by the Alaska State Library. The files include salmon stream and stream improvement surveys, agents' reports, correspondence, school reports, railroad construction reports, flood control reports, mining reports, park superintendent reports and files, field notes, cruise reports, postal route reports, and other records.
